Harris contains bifenthrin, a chemical which functions as an insecticide by paralyzing or killing insects on contact. Studies have demonstrated that bifenthrin is effective against adult and nymphal stages of bed bugs-even in areas where resistance to other insecticides is high. When used correctly, up to 96% of existing infestations can be eliminated.

However, while Harris can certainly help reduce or eliminate active populations of bedbugs, it cannot completely eradicate them from homes on its own. Other measures such as removing clutter, washing fabrics and vacuuming regularly must also be taken in order to ensure complete elimination.
