Do Bed Bugs Wash Off In The Shower

Bed bugs can be a real headache to get rid of. While it's possible to wash them off in the shower, there's no guarantee it will completely eliminate them. Studies have shown that physical scrubbing and/or bathing with soap and water can help remove bed bugs from skin, clothing, and other fabrics. However, bed bugs are also adept at hiding in tiny crevices, making them difficult to effectively reach with soap and water.

Before you take a shower, inspect your body for any signs of bites or insects. Check the shower curtain or tub enclosure for any signs of bed bug activity too. If your house is plagued by frequent infestations, consider replacing your mattress as this could become a source of re-infestation if left untreated.

Vacuuming regularly and cleaning can go a long way towards reducing the risk of further infestations, as it removes dust or debris which may provide living conditions for bedbugs. Consider buying an effective insecticide such as Pyrethrin-based products which can be applied to areas like cracks and crevices found along walls or furniture surfaces where bedbugs tend to hide. But if all else fails, getting rid of the mattress may be your best bet for dealing with more severe cases of infestation problems.
